CNC Application Engineer
Machine Tool Supply is a fast-growing 50 year old company providing Midwest manufacturing companies and job shops with high quality Machine Tools and Industrial Supplies.
We are currently seeking a CNC Application Engineer for our Machine Tool division.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting application engineering/customer training on CNC Machine Tools
- Occasional machine installations and performing after-installation support
- Time studies and test cuts
- Training, troubleshooting and supporting Fanuc and Siemens CNC Controls
- Recommending appropriate cutting tools, workholding and fixturing per customer or part/print specification
- Telephone troubleshooting for customers on operational problems, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Conducting Machine Tool demonstrations at our showroom for customers
- Conducting joint sales calls with our outside sales team
- Act as a technical resource and subject matter expert in the areas of machine tools and cutting tools
- Prepare technical and commercial quotations
- Identify, evaluate and develop business opportunities
Requirements include:
- Three to five years experience in CNC application engineering or equivalent education
- Strong aptitude in CNC Controls and computer applications
- Three to five years experience in cutting tools
- Some regional and overnight travel will be required (as much as 25% initially)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Hands-On type of person
- Excellent personal presentation skills to all types of people
- Successful experience identifying and implementing process improvements in machining technology
- Ability to think methodically, prioritize and follow up on multiple tasks
- Team-first attitude and strong motivation to learn and grow
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
